by Mrs. S. T. Rorer
Philadelphia: W. Atlee Burpee, 1903
Thirteenth edition of the original published in 1890.
I personally LOVE cookbooks, and find that I read or browse through them more frequently than I cook from them, ha ha!
This one is unusual in that it focuses on vegetables. Although not a strictly vegetarian cookbook, most of the recipes are vegetarian or even vegan. This is right during the era when Kellogg was promoting the vegetarian lifestyle.
The book is divided into:
How to Cook Vegetables
Cream Vegetable Soups
Season for Pickling
Bills of Fare
Pages are clean & the binding is firm. Tear along rear hinge of cover which has been repaired with archival paper tape, minor edgewear. Overall in very good condition. (Note: the rear cover IS the same color as the front, but for some reason the pictures turned out a little different.)
