The Tarot of the Bohemians, by Papus, 1892.

ABSOLUTE KEY TO OCCULT SCIENCE:

THE TAROT OF THE BOHEMIANS.
The Most Ancient Book in the World. For the Exclusive Use of Initiates.

by Papus.
Translated by A.P. Morton.
London: Chapman & Hall, 1892.

One of the most famous books on tarot, this is a standard in any serious occult library. The second edition, which came out in 1910 was revised & edited by none other than Arthur Edward Waite. This copy, however, is the first edition published in 1892.

Full black cloth boards with gilt key device to front cover, gilt lettering to spine. We had this lightly repaired, with the top of the backstrip reattached along joints, and both hinges reinforced. It is thus now a nice & sturdy copy. Text is clean and unmarked, a few pencil notes to last blank page, the cloth boards have moderate edgewear, especially near corners and bottom of spine. It’s a good copy that presents well.

Measures 8-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ and has 355 pages.
