The Narrative is one of the few contemporary descriptions of the life and culture of precolumbian Aztecs. This narrative describes everything from the land and animals, to military concerns, to food and drink, to religion and government, to architecture and beyond.
This edition is the Saville translation of 1917, with its extensive footnotes, and includes two illustrations from the 1556 Ramusio translation.
